2017 Travels

2017 has been a HUGE travel year for me! I have either visited or passed through the following states: Illinois, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Washington, and Alaska.

In early February, I joined my brother in the Bahamas on his sailboat and spent about a month exploring the Exuma Islands and other parts of the Bahamas. The waters were so beautiful with so many shades of blue; it was a paradise for photography! My favorite spot was Warderick Wells! Many of the photographs from this trip (and some others) are highlighted in the gallery titled "Sailing".

In August, Joe and I visited three parks in southern Utah:  Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park. Then we headed to Wyoming to observe the total solar eclipse in Jackson Hole. The eclipse was spectacular, but, unfortunately, I didn't get any good photographs of the event. After the eclipse, we traveled north through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks in Wyoming. We established a base in a rented log cabin along the Yellowstone River in Pray, Montana and used this for daily trips into Yellowstone from the north entrance of the park. Yellowstone is a spectacular park with so much to see!  We only had about 5 nights in the cabin, but we saw a good deal of the park and did some hiking. It was a spectacular vacation and I am so excited to share some of these photographs! They are included in the gallery titled "Parks and Monuments" on my website.

During the summer, we visited my son and family in Alaska. Alaska is a BEAUTIFUL place and I hope you enjoy some of the photographs that I have taken there over the years. They are included in the gallery titled "Alaska".
